4176.0 Health Promotion among the Elderly

This session address issues on the improvement of health status among the elderly. Topics include: fatigue, fatigability, and mortality risk, implications from a 2009 representative health survey of public housing older residents in New York City, program to encourage active and rewarding lives for seniors with hard-to-reach populations, whether there is a gender difference in the association between social network and self-rated health among older adults in urban China, and the development of a Medicare Part D Beneficiary Comprehension Test.
Session Objectives: 1. Identify the effect of physical activity on the relationship between fatigue and mortality. 2. Assess the gender effects in the relationship between social network and self-rated health among older adults in urban China.
