Trade and trade policy have impacts on public health ranging from availability of food and medicine to the ability of governments to make national public health policy. We can increase the effectiveness of public health programs and interventions by incorporating perspectives on the global economy and trade. This panel presents strategies and examples of how to integrate action and advocacy around global trade and health issues into our professional work, community activities and daily lives.
Session Objectives: List various approaches to advocacy and action to prioritize health in trade policy. Identify opportunities to become an advocate for public health in trade.
