We will discuss initiatives in Massachusetts and California that have had an impact on cost containment and therefore, the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Session Objectives: Discuss how bundled payments and Accountable Care Organizations can help bend the cost curve. Analyze rate regulation as a cost containment intervention that could be employed by states to reduce health care cost growth. Explain how Massachusetts is taking on the challenge of cost containment.
