As the largest public health organization in the US, APHA is uniquely positioned to for advocacy. Beyond what is undertaken through its own staff on behalf of APHA, advocacy by or through individual members is a growing area of action. This presentation will discuss APHA's advocacy activities and how the organization mobilizes its members to take action on public health issues. Examples will be given from APHA's summer advocacy campaign, as well as tips and best practices on being a public health advocate.
