Accreditation and the IRS Community Benefit requirement have increased interest among local health departments in developing comprehensive community health assessments (CHAs) and community health improvement plans (CHIPs), already a core component of local health department practice. NACCHO will provide information on common CHIP practices in LHDs across the country, discuss how existing partnerships can be leveraged and describe tools and resources for use in CHIP development and implementation.
