Launched in fall of 2011, “The Public's Health” is the nation's only blog/column in a major U.S. newspaper dedicated solely to public health issues. It appears both online and in print in The Philadelphia Inquirer. This presentation will examine the challenges of using social media tools in developing and sharing our content. Blogging for a newspaper offers unique challenges and opportunities that will also be discussed.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the co-founder and blogger for the Philadelphia Inquirer’s public health blog called “The Public’s Health.” I am also a public health historian and ethicist at the Drexel University School of Public Health.
