The passage of the ACA and the subsequent roll out across the states may result in unintended consequences. The presentation will examine possible impact on the medical safety net in the United States.

Discuss the components of the ACA that directly impact safety net organizations. Compare mechanisms to support safety net institutions before ACA and after its provisions are implemented. Understand the pressures placed on safety net institutions by the ACA and contrast different approaches to meeting those pressures.
