This panelist from a national community health professional association will discuss hospitals' engagement in community health assessment and improvement planning, and share tools and approaches frequently used by hospitals. The discussion will address factors important for public health leaders to understand about the changing environment in which hospitals operate, and how those factors may reinforce the strategic value of community health assessment and planning by health care providers. Examples and potential benefits of hospital – public health collaboration will be shared.
