There has been an increased emphasis on emergency preparedness for hospitals in the United States following incidents like the World Trade Center Attacks, Hurricane Katrina, and other large scale disasters. Organizations like Joint Commission have redirected their focus on areas such as Environment of Care in recent years. Often the money for equipment flows in from Federal sources before proper educational planning and deployment can be delivered. Our video attempts to be a bridge for hospital staff faced with managing the issues of new equipment and training. The focus of this video is on the use of the body sealer to handle patient remains. This material and equipment is commonly seen in Nebraska hospitals.
