Considerations in choosing to use qualitative software

Ms. Ron will provide a brief overview of the evolution of qualitative research and how software can help with increasing volume of data and with analyzing data collected through social media. She will discuss ways of increasing the reliability and validity of qualitative data, and the role of software can play in this endeavor. She will discuss considerations in deciding whether or not to utilize software to organize and analyze qualitative data.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am an Associate in the International Health Division of Abt Associates and serve as the Co-Director of the Qualitative Methods Center. At Abt,I lead numerous qualitative and mixed methods studies that examine health-seeking behavior and attitudes of clients and health providers in the developing world. I specialize in training developing world counterparts to lead qualitative data collection efforts. I helped develop the current session curriculum and have presented it previously.
