Biographical Sketch: Holly Carpenter, BSN, RN, is a Senior Staff Specialist for the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) at the American Nurses Association (ANA). While at the ANA, Holly served on the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health’s (NIOSH) Hazardous Drug Panel. She has assisted in developing and presenting several continuing education programs and posters for nurses on environmental health topics including healthy, sustainable food systems. Holly has had several environmental and occupational health articles published in The American Nurse and Nursing Administration Quarterly. From 1994-2006, Holly was a nurse consultant for the State of Maryland’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in the Division of Waiver Programs. From 2006-2007, she was Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment’s nursing coordinator for the Maryland Nurses Association.
