Issues in Family Violence: Policy, Prevention, and Intervention

Family violence occurs across the life course and affects both individuals and communities. To effectively prevent and respond to all forms of family violence, it is critical to consider how research informs both practice and advocacy efforts. In this session, panelists will discuss issues of prevention, intervention, and policy related to multiple types of family violence: child maltreatment, intimate partner violence, dating violence, and youth bullying.
Session Objectives: Describe findings from recent reports on child maltreatment.
Identify opportunities for responding to victims of intimate partner violence and youth bullying.
Discuss teen perceptions of orders of protection.
