This session covers a variety of topics that are linked by a common theme of competency based public health workforce training. Five different Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded Public Health Training Centers (PHTCs) around the country will share different programs and experiences relating to the education of public health professionals in areas that are of interest to their particular niche of workers. The session will demonstrate innovative and creative ways of addressing public health issues.
Session Objectives: Explain the purpose and scopes of the Public Health Training Centers.
Identify public health competencies associated with each program.
Describe different methods of training that can be used to reach varying public health workforce audiences.
