Principles and Organization of Documentation

Documentation that is used to support a health department’s application for accreditation must meet certain requirements before it can be submitted.  Understanding this while preparing documentation will ensure that the health department does not waste time on unsatisfactory or inappropriate documentation.

Since PHAB uses a web-based system for documentation, it is important that health departments have a means to organize both electronic documents and paper documents that will be used.

This session will be both a lecture and a group discussion about the four key principles of documentation that must be considered when assessing and selecting documentation.  The principles are used to ensure that appropriate documentation is chosen.  Learners will be presented with multiple methods for organizing documentation within their organization, including discussion of methods already being used by learners.
