The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) has been called the most successful initiative that UNICEF has ever launched. Over 21,000 maternity facilities in 156 countries are now BFHI-designated hospitals. Approximately 40 nations comprise this Network and present reports of BFHI implementation, barriers and solutions, innovations and expansions of the 2009 Expansion of BFHI into other settings, and share detailed information on indicators, measurement tools, the International Code, and related topics. ILCA is a Non-governmental Organization affiliated with WHO and UNICEF and recently launched a BFHI Committee and is developing a central Web presence for BFHI issues. The 2014 meeting planners have asked ILCA to submit a report on ILCA's support for BFHI, which is the first time ILCA has been asked to do so. This presentation will summarize highlights from the 2014 and past BFHI Coordinators’ meetings.
