Describe Cancer Health Disparities Network (CDRN)’s process to adapt and assess impact of an evidence-based cancer and biospecimen education curriculum for diverse populations. Describe the culturally-adapted Cancer 101 cancer and biospecimen education curriculum used in pilot study. Compare participants’ knowledge and attitudes of biospecimen research across six diverse populations. Explain the CDRN’s community-engaged approach to addressing cancer health disparities and diverse engagement and biospecimen research and it’s application to other community based research.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Dr. Fleisher has a broad range of experience and knowledge in cancer control programs. Her research has bridged the fields of health communications and public health, with an emphasis on public health planning and evaluation, health disparities, health education/communication interventions, and community-participatory and dissemination research. She has developed numerous health education materials and resources, co-authored a number of health communication tools and has directed efforts focusing on tailoring health communications materials to underserved audiences.
