The presenters will explain how an integrative care education model is used to meet patient needs and wants. A fifteen-year case study is shared with the audience to discuss successes, failures, and sound business practices used to sustain an outpatient integrative care center in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The presenters also describe the clinical model and the various complementary and alternative medicine modalities that served as the foundation for patient-centered care. Marketing strategies used in creating awareness and demand in the community for comprehensive services are discussed. The presenters discuss niche marketing strategies founded on principles of patient advocacy. Regional socio-economic factors are discussed to help generalize at a global level on how integrative medicine clinics can be sustained. Future trends and implications from the Affordable Care Act are discussed on how integrative medicine centers can capitalize on business development.
