Participants will learn how increased interest in the adoption of worksite wellness policies together with emphasis by the federal government on healthy foods and beverages available to employees and visitors to federal facilities is leading to a similar increase in policy change campaigns in states and local communities.  Many non-profit public health organizations have resources to offer to state and local governments in their work towards adopting city or state level policy changes in healthier vending and service procurement policies.  This session will focus on those resources and how several non-profit organizations working in this policy change field are collaborating to support and advise campaigns in states and local communities across the country.  The session will highlight lessons learned from previous and current policy change campaigns with an emphasis on the different types of policy change strategies available to state or local governments interested in providing healthier foods and beverages to their employees and visitors to their facilities.  Several recent and ongoing campaigns will be shared as examples of the varied types of strategies available to state and local governments who are focused on improving the health of their employees and visitors to their facilities.
