Through the collaborative efforts of JHUCCP and Digital Campus an Android based education application and administrative learning management system was created to provide educational resources for frontline health workers in Nigeria in support of the Nigerian Urban Reproductive Health Initiative (NURHI).   This session will present the process of determining the user and system requirements for the development of the application, the implementation and results of the application pilot test and the results (so far) of the system’s deployment to over 300 family planning providers in Nigeria.  The session will also address the steps involved in creating and sustaining a Learning Management System (LMS) with a mobile application component.

Describe the user and system requirements of a remote learning system in a region with unreliable and/or costly internet connectivity. Analyze and demonstrate the uses of different forms of media on a mobile platform to inform frontline health workers. Describe how to set up an entire learning management system with a mobile application component for frontline health workers.
