Role of cultural tailoring in community-based diabetes self-management education programs among vulnerable populations
People with diabetes often do not receive Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME), despite evidence that DSME is an effective intervention. Additionally, we will discuss findings and lessons learned from culturally tailored DSME programs in African American communities in Michigan, American Indian tribal communities in Kansas and Michigan and Latino communities in California, New Mexico, and Arizona.
