Students will complete a pre-course assessment of their knowledge, skills and attitude toward health policy advocacy. Their past experience and willingness to engage in state and/or local advocacy will be assessed. The results of this survey will be compared with one taken at the conclusion of the course to determine if the stated learning objectives have been achieved.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: As a past-president of the NJPHA, APHA Executive Board member, and co-founder of the NJ Public Health Institute, I have led and participated in a diverse array of health advocacy campaigns, including providing direct testimony to state legislative committees. I teach the Health Policy Analysis and Advocacy course at JSPH and have authored numerous policy and opinion articles for the general public that appear regularly in the Wall Street Journal and Philadelphia Inquirer.
