Siri ya Mtungi (Secrets in an African Pot) is a 13-episode Tanzanian television series. It tells the story of relationships won and lost through a cast of colorful characters, inspired by love, brought down by fear, superstition and betrayal, and strengthened by the intimate bonds of family and friendship. Aired on national television and distributed widely on DVD format, the program targets Tanzanian adults of reproductive age. The purpose of Siri ya Mtungi is to inform the audience about positive health practices and model key behaviors in regard to concurrent partners, family planning, and safe motherhood with the goal that Tanzanians will see themselves in the characters and adopt positive health practices. The project also provides new skills and opportunities to local actors, musicians, artists, and crew. Never before has the Tanzanian film industry seen such a high quality production. A second season is currently in production. Both seasons will be dubbed to English and French to facilitate effective distribution across the continent.

In episode 4 of Siri ya Mtungi, all Mzee Kizito can think of is how he is going to marry the beautiful Nusura, daughter of the slumlord, Masharubu. Uncle Mawazo has the unhappy task of dealing with greedy Masharubu who is prepared to marry off his daughter for the highest possible price. Cheche still finds it hard to balance his business and family, and Cheusi's time is taken up looking after two active young kids and her pregnancy. Cheche seeks solace with Tula at her kigrosari, and then has his studio turned upside down when a shangingi called Lulu turns up out of nowhere and demands service!
