Transcending place using digital tools to engage CHWs in digital health promotion to reduce infant mortality among high-risk African American women
lesson learned about needing to engage our CHWs in the social media/technology outreach as
the “faces” and “voices” of our program. The CHWs acted as the perfect medium for
outreach using our preliminary focus groups and interview findings that they want a slightly
older female role model, who has “been through it” to be their source of information, which
holds true via social media as well. Elaborate on our plans to further engage and train the
CHWs in social media and tech outreach moving forward.
