This presentation will provide an overview APHA’s recently adopted policy statement “Improving Health and Wellness through Access to Nature”; present the scientific evidence about the physical and mental health benefits of being physically active in natural environments; describe NEEF’s Children and Nature: Rx for Outdoor Activity Initiative as a replicable model to connect people to nature, and introduce the Initiative’s New Orleans pilot site project.
