The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the Health Education Specialist Practice Analysis (HESPA) and its impact on curriculum development in academia at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  To meet accreditation requirements, the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) and the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) partnered to conduct the HESPA, in order to update and validate the contemporary practice of both entry and advanced-level health education practitioners.  Presenters will provide details about the alignment of curriculum in professional preparation programs with the latest HESPA results and the CHES and MCHES examinations.   This mapping process involves complete understanding of the relationship between the Areas of Responsibility and course content and outcomes.  At the end of the session, participants will be able to explain the purpose of the HESPA results and aligning curriculum.  Additionally, school reports available from NCHEC for use by professional preparation programs will be discussed.
