Physicians from Tulane Medical Center's Pediatrics Department and the Tulane-Ochsner Residency Program partnered with the National Park Service to promote the wellness of young patients through structured recreational and educational activities at national park sites. Tulane physicians recruited from their LaSalle clinic patient base in downtown New Orleans.  Patients selected were those whose chronic illnesses were being managed and who could participate in light to moderate activity. Along with recruitment, the team of physicians designated one doctor to accompany the patients to the park. They also conducted follow ups on patient experience and health status. This presentation will describe the project and present the outcomes of the project.
