Physicians at Louisiana State University’s Pediatrics Department are being introduced to an evolving body of scientific evidence that “green time” can result in better health and social outcomes for youth. Using a train-the-trainer model, physicians are learning about the balance of “green time” and media use and methods of delivery of these recommendations in their everyday clinical care of their patients. This presentation will describe the successes and lessons learned from this institution’s efforts to implement NEEF’s Children and Nature Initiative: Rx for Outdoor Activity including feedback from both health care providers and patients.
