Joy Lewis , St. Bernard Citizens for Environmental Quality, New Orleans, LA
From 2001 – 2006, Joy Lewis was an active member of the St. Bernard Citizens for Environmental Quality LLC (SDCEQ) , a community group working to monitor refinery emissions and advocate for a cleaner environment for Louisiana residents.  Ms. Lewis, a resident of St. Bernard Parish since 1955, was forced to move away from the parish after a million gallon oil spill during Hurricane Katrina destroyed her home.
