This presentation will give an overview of research on individual health behaviors, the  Public health impact of insufficient physical activity, and growing body of neighborhood and contextual research. There is an interrelation of multilevel factors on individual health, including socioecological models.

In addressing leading health problems in the US, examples  from a program of research in neighborhood and contextual influences on individual and community health will be presented.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Dr. Robinson's research is in physical activity, neighborhood context, and health disparities associated with geographic location and socioeconomic position. She uses a social epidemiological approach with a focus on cardiovascular, cancer, and obesity outcomes. She has expertise in the use of geographic information systems (GIS), multilevel statistical modeling, physical activity, working with minority populations, and experience with the Jackson Heart Study, a large, prospective cohort study that is investigating causes of cardiovascular disease health disparities
