Our research examined the impact of cancer survivorship on out-of-pocket health care expenses. We compared the prevalence of high out-of-pocket burden (defined as a percentage of income) between cancer survivors and other adults without a history of cancer. We also examined sociodemographic characteristics associated with high out-of-pocket burden among cancer survivors. The research examined access to care and use of preventive services among cancer survivors with various levels of out-of-pocket burden.
