The Florida Department of Health will present details on their recent efforts to prepare a vulnerability assessment and hazard-specific profiles related to climate-sensitive health outcomes in key geographic areas of Florida. The speaker will discuss the methods used to choose the hazards and health outcomes of greatest concern and indicators for determining vulnerability. The speaker will discuss data sources, novel methods that were employed, and lessons learned for other jurisdictions planning to conduct similar assessments. The speaker will discuss how the vulnerability assessment and hazard-specific profiles are influencing plans to adapt to long-term weather variation at the state and local level.
