Many people are unsure of the meaning of public health. National Public Health Week (NPHW) takes place every April and is a great way to spread awareness of the interdisciplinary science of public health. This presentation will discuss successful strategies used to celebrate NPHW at the University of New Hampshire, which won the 2014 grand prize in the student category from the APHA. Successful event planning, marketing, and implementation strategies will be discussed.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Annie graduated the University of New Hampshire in May 2014, with a B.S. in Health Management and Policy, concentrating on Public Health. She also completed a dual-major B.S. in EcoGastronomy, an interdisciplinary study of a sustainable food system. At UNH, Annie was an active student leader working to promote public health, sustainability, and healthy food systems. She is an advocate for youth development and mental health.
