The mission of the nationally-accredited City of New Orleans Health Department (NOHD) is to protect, promote and improve the health of all where we live, learn, work and play.  A winner of the inaugural Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Roadmaps to Health Prize, NOHD aims to serve New Orleanians as a 21st century health department and a model for the nation, capable of improving population health through data-driven decision making and policy development.  NOHD’s transformation and recent improvements in community health will be explored, including consideration of how the County Health Rankings can support population-wide public health interventions.
