Incorporating media outreach can bring tremendous value to existing advocacy efforts at the state and local levels. This presentation will discuss the basics on how advocates can use a range of communication techniques, including social media engagement and traditional media outreach to enhance their priority issues. I will share tools APHA uses to enhance visibility of its legislative priorities including Twitter, Facebook and Public Health Newswire.
