This presentation is part of "advocacy for leaders" session. Advocacy for leaders: Sections in action will focus on section advocacy activities and opportunities available to partner with APHA staff to translate section expertise into APHA legislative and advocacy action. This interactive presentation will cover the process our section has for a robust advocacy agenda including committee/member engagement, as well as examples of how section works with APHA staff on drafting regulatory comments.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the co-chair of APHA’s Food and Nutrition section’s policy committee. I am the director of nutrition policy at the Food Research and Action Center. As a national advocate for 25 years, my work has focused on the nutrition policies, such as increasing the healthfulness of nutrition programs, necessary to reach the goals of eradicating domestic hunger and improving the nutrition and health in the U.S. My credentials include an MPH, RD.
