As the data deluge progresses, opportunities grow to align or link disparate public health and other data sets to generate useful information and insight for decision support and enlightened practice. This session examines major approaches to data fusion, epidemiologic perspectives to align multiple data sources, and the presenter’s results from aligning various data sets examining community resources and indicators, public health metrics, and open data.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have been involved as the principal data scientist involved in multiple Independent Research and Development (IRaD) projects at Northrop Grumman Corporation (Public Health Operating Unit) which include the examination, cleansing, integration, analysis, visualization, and reporting of public health and community data for the investigation of health promotion and disease prevention activities. I have been involved in linking and aligning multiple data sets to derive synergistic benefits from such efforts.
