CORE Group is a network of 104 international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and community health experts promoting community health strategies to reach marginalized and underserved groups and provide universal coverage of basic primary care with a focus on women and children.  CORE Group members work in 180 countries and reach more than 720 million people. CORE Group works in partnership with USAID, UNICEF, and national and local governments.  CORE Group began in 1997 with USAID funding to support the Child Survival and Health Program.  CORE Group has two meetings each year which are focused on information sharing, technical updates and networking. In 2013, 1,140 people from 26 countries attended our meetings to discuss practical plans, collaboration, efficient use of available resources, and how to work for greater equity and shared accountability. This presentation will provide an overview of CORE Group’s history, vision, mission, activities and future plans to address health inequities and eliminate preventable maternal and child deaths.
