This presentation will focus on how participants can incorporate equity into foundational skills of public health. Every day, decisions are made that have an influence on health equity. These decisions may include who is hired, what activities take place, which populations are served, and how strategies are implemented and evaluated. Considering how every decision will impact health equity goals is an important step in integrating health equity into everyday practice. This presentation will highlight lessons learned from practitioners across the nation who are working to advance health equity.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: As part of the team at Prevention Institute, I supported the development of the strategies and community profiles for A Practitioner’s Guide to Advance Health Equity: Community Strategies for Preventing Chronic Disease. I lead trainings and technical assistance for communities across the country addressing health inequities through primary prevention. My scientific interests have focused on advancing health equity through comprehensive, PSE strategies in various settings.
