This session is focused on interventions and policies that improve the health of young children. Results from a randomized trial of an innovative peer-mentored intervention to improve food preparation and nutrition are discussed, as are the effects of Medicaid coverage on mortality and influences on vaccination practices and coverage in Africa.
Session Objectives: Assess the efficacy of a peer-mentored intervention intended to improve health and nutrition among Early Head Start families
Describe pregnancy and child delivery practices and identify mechanisms for improving polio birth dose coverage in CORE group Polio Project implementation districts
Identify the health insurance disparity among poor and near-poor families with link to Medicaid expansion
Analyze the effects of media use on mother's vaccination of her children in Sub-Saharan Africa.
