While more than 75% of mother-infant dyads in the US have ever breastfed, fewer than 50% are still breastfeeding after 6 months. Systems approaches to removing barriers to breastfeed may result in increased duration rates and improved maternal and child health. This session will focus on systems-level work designed to support the breastfeeding dyad.
Session Objectives: Describe health systems approaches to support the breastfeeding mother-infant dyad. Describe systems approaches to support breastfeeding outside the health sector.
