Statement of Purpose and Institute Overview:
The purpose of this Institute is to train participants in the steps critical for the development of a systematic review allowing them to contribute to building the scientific basis of public health, employ best practices in the workplace, and utilize the evidence when creating or evaluating policies, interventions, or clinical trials. The course instructors are regularly asked to provide extensive assistance in developing systematic review searches and have found that
Session Objectives: Identify the steps of the systematic review/meta-analysis search process;
Describe appropriate search methodologies to locate potentially eligible studies;
Demonstrate the ability to write a methods section of a systematic review based on current guidelines.
