State Healthcare Innovation Plan Matrix
Methods: The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) analyzed 15 of the 16 State Healthcare Innovation Plans and identified seven key elements of the plans. The seven key elements include: prevention and population health; financing population health; transforming clinical care; health disparities; behavioral health; data and information technology; and workforce.
Results: The State Healthcare Innovation Plan analysis identified the sections of each plan that aligned with the seven key elements. The results were organized by state and by focus area and posted on ASTHO’s SIM Wikispace. This public site allows users to browse and compare the results of the analysis across states by each of the focus areas and to review summaries of each state’s plan.
Conclusion: The ASTHO SIM Wikispace is a reference tool which shares with users a body of knowledge on the best practices and materials from Round One of the SIM Initiative. The easy-to-use format of the Wikispace allows state public health agencies and other users to easily reference these strategies as they develop healthcare reforms in their respective states.
