Effective Healthy People 2020 Resources to Influence a Health in All Policies Approach to Policy and Program Development
This presentation will describe how HP2020 can be used as a model for state and local communities to develop their own HiAP program. Attendees will learn about various HP2020 tools that can be used to develop, implement, and evaluate a health in all policies program, including using our MAP-IT program planning and evaluation tool, exploring our 26 leading health indicators to set priorities for the program, using the HP2020 data search to assess national baselines and targets for various health issues, and searching for evidence-based resources to positively impact a health issue in the community. Lastly, attendees will learn about our newest resource showcasing HP2020 as a critical model of a HiAP program, the Healthy People 2020 Law and Health Policy project, which demonstrates the impact and effect that laws and policies can have in improving health.
