Now that public health department accreditation has been available since September 2011, PHAB has learned a lot from accredited health departments about the impact of going through the process on  their health department operations. This session will provide a description of lessons learned from evaluations that indicate how health departments have changed as a result of preparing for and achieving accreditation.

Identify lessons learned from accreditation evaluation that are informing the exploration of new accreditation related products and services. Discuss feedback from the public health field that will further inform accreditation development.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am the Director of Research and Evaluation for the Public Health Accreditation Board. In that position, I manage PHAB's overall internal and external evaluation plans, and the contract with NORC at the University of Chicago (PHAB's external evaluator). I will be discussing information from the last two years of evaluation data and analysis.
