Promoting the consideration of equity in federal programs: An Implementation Strategy of the Federal Interagency Health Equity Team

From October 2014 through September 2015, the Federal Interagency Health Equity Team (FIHET) initiated a suite of activities to support peer programs, offices and agencies with integrating health equity considerations into their programs and policies.  The purpose of this presentation is to share this strategy, and discuss key activities implemented by the FIHET to support federal peer organizations with integrating health equity considerations into their policies and programs. The FIHET is a cross-sector, federal implementation body under the National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities (NPA), with the mission to end health disparities by building capacity for equitable policies and programs, cultivating strategic partnerships, and sharing relevant models for action.
