Incorporating media outreach can bring tremendous value to existing advocacy efforts at the state and local levels. This presentation will discuss the basics on how advocates can use a range of communication techniques, including using media to enhance visibility and engagement with priority issues. I will share tools APHA uses to advance its legislative priorities including engaging with the media and covering issues via our communications outlets.
