Childcare Oral Session: Nutrition and Physical Activity in Child Care

This session highlights current research and practice improving health policies and practices for infants and young children in child care settings. Topics include nutrition, physical activity and breastfeeding policy, standards, practice, and/or effectiveness of child care programs.
Session Objectives: Describe the training and technical assistance provided to home-based and center-based child care providers to strengthen nutrition and physical activity-related programs and policies. Identify breastfeeding training and resources for early care providers. Discuss interventions and unique community partnerships for obesity prevention in early childhood settings and opportunities for scaling up to other communities.
