Illinois favors a vigorous implementation of the ACA and anticipates the defeat of litigation challenging the law. Controlling health care costs by improving the health of the population is essential to economic recovery and a sustainable state budget. ACA offers important new tools for states to utilize.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: The governor appointed me to implement the ACA for Illinois. I direct the work of several state agencies coordinate efforts with dozens of advocates and stakeholders related to ACA. I have worked for 25 years expanding access to affordable, high quality health care for under-served urban and rural population.
