Maryland state and local health departments have sustained significant funding cuts over the past several years, yet have launches high impact health improvement initiatives.In general, these initiatives have been supported by leveraging relationships with others, eg., state agencies, the hospital sector, and foundations. The presentation will give examples of such improvements in health informatics, health improvement coalitions, and workforce development.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Directs and leads a staff of approximately 1300 and manages a $455 million organization responsible for basic public health functions for the State of Maryland.
