This Poster session provides an overview of collaborative efforts being fostered between environmental health and other disciplines. Presentations will demonstrate initiatives designed to improve the capacity of state and local health departments to perform the varied functions which comprise environmental health, and collaborations designed to increase the involvement of groups such as schools of public health, community based organizations and local stakeholder groups in environmental health initiatives. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: 1)Identify ways in which to strengthen partnerships between schools of public health, environmental health departments and local communities 2) List several strategies for engaging stakeholders over time from diverse agencies on an issue of mutual concern 3) Discuss ways in which the state health department can effectively work and reach consensus with the state’s environmental agency, community-based organizations and environmental advocacy groups | |||
